Westfield Gas & Electric Light Department (WGELD) supplies electric and natural gas service to the city Westfield, Massachusetts. WGELD was founded in 1899.
WGELD is governed by a six-member elected and one-member mayoral appointed Municipal Light Board that appoints a General Manager. WGELD's seven-member Board is charged with overseeing the strategic direction of the department. The group meets once a month on the first Wednesday to discuss departmental business. These meetings are open to the public.
