For lower-usage businesses to bring their energy costs even lower

For operations with lower usage, efficiency measures are often less intricate than their larger business counterparts. The direct install program allows approved efficiency measures to proceed immediately after energy audits are completed. Any cost-effective efficiency measures that result in electric or natural gas savings are eligible for consideration under this program.

Incentives may be approved for qualifying measures to building envelope, lighting, motors and drives, HVAC, energy management systems, furnaces/boilers, and site-specific custom measures. How it works

1) An energy audit, the size and scope of which will vary depending on the size and complexity of facility and be reviewed by business owner, evaluates current/ past usage; audit co-funded up to 50%, maximum of $2,500.

2) Audit is reviewed by business and WG+E to prioritize efficiency measures and establish scope of installation(s).

3) Once installation and operation is verified, incentive payments will be made to the customer up to 50% of the total approved project costs, up to a maximum of $5,000 per project.
