New Construction and Lost Opportunity Pilot Program
Providing technical services and rebates toward the installation of high-efficiency equipment
We are committed to strengthening Westfield as it grows: when a business is expanding, renovating, or building a new facility, there's a brief window to choose proper equipment. This program targets those chances, as well instances when equipment fails or is near the end of its useful life, and supports the integration of energy efficient technologies.
The right expertise and support at the right time
By supporting technical assistance with architectural/building considerations such as Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) criteria, as well as a number of specialized applications such as mechanical or electrical system review, WG+E is helping local businesses tap into expert resources they might not have been able to afford on their own. The right guidance can lead to measures that may not only qualify for a rebate but will deliver energy cost savings throughout their operational life.
How it works
1) If Technical Services evaluation requested, energy expert will review expansion/ building plans for compliance with State and industry energy codes (LEED criteria) and recommend efficiency measures.
2) Efficiency measures will be evaluated based on energy saving potential & install cost of premium efficiency equipment over standard equipment.
3) Technical Services co-funded at 50% up to $5,000; efficiency measures may qualify for rebates of 50% of incremental costs up to $7,500.
