WG+E is a department within the City of Westfield. We have a job classification plan that includes Civil Service positions under the Human Resources Division of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and in which each job role is considered either a Labor Class Position or an Official Class Position.
In order to be considered for a Labor class position, applicants must complete a Municipal Labor Service Application. Once this application is received, and applicant has adequately demonstrated the experience and/or qualifications for the position of interest, the application is placed on file for a period of five years and candidates are contacted in order of application filing date to interview for any applicable future positions. There does not need to be a vacancy in order to apply for a labor service position. Veteran status preference applies.
In order to be considered for an Official class position, applicants must complete the WG+E Employment Application and have the option to attach a cover letter, resume, and/or copies of any licensing that may be needed for a particular job title.
